Read J.A. Jance!!

Since January 7th, my last post I've read 5 books... My favorite is a new discovery.  J.A. Jance, her books move fast from start to finish, she really knows how to grab you!  Read all her books, I've read Hand of Evil and Dead Wrong this past week.  Just got Cruel Intent which I'm sure I'll zip right through!

The Winter Widow by Charlene Weir

My first adventure into discovering new authors was interesting.  According to the "cover comments" this was Charlene's first novel and a real winner!  Guess I read the book too fast cause it didn't have the same affect on me.  But, I will look for her other books and give it another shot - at discount prices of course!

Plum Spooky by Janet Evanovich

Happy New Year!  Its 2010??? wow, when did that happen?  OK, enough procrastinating.

Janet Evanovich never disappoints even when I discover three words into the book that I've already read it!!!  Yes, really but what the hey I read it again anyway and of course enjoyed the adventures of Stephanie Plum, Lula, the hot Ranger man and hot Diesel too!

Fun, good pace and an easy read to start the new year.  Yesterday, I went into Haslam's Used Books and found a couple of "unknown to me" authors and I've started reading the Winter Widow by Charlene Weir.  Looked her up on the web and she has written 8 books with this character.  I like finding new authors esp at discount prices so I am going to do more digging in 2010.

Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer

So, the saga ends and I have to say, the "ending" was anti-climatic and there is no more?

Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer & U is for Undertow by Sue Grafton

Two weeks - two books.  Loved no. 3 in the Twilight series, just starting the 4th and seriously hooked already.  Sue Grafton's latest didn't hook me in the same way others have didn't have the zip I'm used to, entertaining tho.  Maybe I need to take a break after this final Twilight...so many books, so little time.  Have a great week.

I, Alex Cross by James Patterson

Remember the phrase, "Where's the Beef?"  well unfortunately, that's how I'm feeling about this newest Alex Cross novel.  As always the idea/basic story is intriguing but I'm feeling short-changed?  The personal, family story is sound, the mystery is scary enough I guess I just wish it had been longer?  Took less than 24 hours to read the book.  Fortunately, it is Monday and I know that Trish is bringing in the third book in the Twilight series for me!!

OK, so two other people have now read this book and I was being generous in my earlier review, this book is a rip off!  I guess if my name was James Patterson I could dump anything onto the unsuspecting public and make a couple more million!
